Our story
A passion for authentic
Sri Lankan cuisine
In 1996, Mani, a passionate Sri Lankan chef, arrived in Los Angeles, California, with a simple dream: to share the authentic flavors and rich culinary traditions of his homeland.
Recognizing the limited availability of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, Mani envisioned bringing the taste of Sri Lanka to the growing community in Southern California.
Despite facing personal challenges and unexpected health difficulties, he remained determined to pursue his dream. When his family joined him in 2006, their support helped turn his passion into a small, family-run takeout service, initially serving friends and the local Sri Lankan community.
Over the years, Mani Catering grew into a trusted name, providing authentic Sri Lankan cuisine for weddings, birthday celebrations, cultural gatherings, corporate functions, and special events across the counties of Southern California and beyond.
With over 16 years of catering experience, we take pride in preparing freshly made dishes using quality ingredients, traditional recipes, and the distinctive flavors of Sri Lanka.
In August 2021, we introduced Lanka Food Truck, bringing our authentic Sri Lankan cuisine directly to communities throughout Southern California. In 2023, we expanded our services by introducing home delivery, making it even more convenient for customers in neighboring cities to enjoy their favorite Sri Lankan dishes, freshly prepared and delivered right to their doorsteps.
Today, Mani Catering continues to grow as a family-driven business, offering traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, interactive live cooking stations, customized buffet catering, and event management services.
While our business continues to evolve, our commitment remains unchanged: authentic flavors, quality ingredients, warm hospitality, and memorable experiences for every customer.

When our original caterer fell through at the last minute, Mani Catering truly came to our rescue. Even with another event scheduled on the same day, they graciously accommodated our request—and delivered a fabulous event! From the moment I reached out, Kishock was very responsive and stayed attentive and communicative throughout the entire planning process, which gave us so much peace of mind. The food was absolutely outstanding. We had an assortment of appetizers and the mutton rolls were outstanding. We had a live hopper station, along with a wonderful selection of curries and vegetable dishes, all of which were delicious and authentically Sri Lankan. And the watalappam dessert—perfectly done and incredibly tasty—was a highlight everyone raved about. The staff and setup were professional, polished, and seamless. We used Mani Catering for our daughter’s wedding this Summer at Pelican Hill Resort. They were absolutely fantastic. The food was incredible - our guests are still talking about delicious Coconut roti, Kothu roti, Hoppers and how flavorful coconut Sambol, curries and appetizers. The team especially Kishock was pleasure to work with through out the entire planning process. They were flexible with our menu request and work seamlessly with our venue.
